this blog will be strickly for finished writing or pieces of things im working on. ill start by posting a few recent things.

You’ve hardly touched your food
Behind angry eyes
And clenched fists
That your bony jaw rests upon
In contempt
Sweat builds under your knuckles
And your chin begins to slip
Through the honest space between your bitter fists
You’re forced to fight to keep
The facade you’ve grown so used to

Your food presents an array
Of colors and textures
Appearing grey
Dull to taste and touch
Growing frigid under shades of distain
And you’ll push it around your plate
In a most apathetic way
Starved as you may be
You’ll hold out
To appease your handsome dinner date

There’s a tiny flicker in the corner of your eye
Reflecting dim light of
Of the tiffany lamp
Hung over our table for two by a rusty chain…
…slung over a wavering brass hook
…and screwed into a faulty plaster ceiling..
Bound to fall at any moment
Breaking unbearable silence

Just when tension
Begins to breed wrenching anxiety
You rest your fork lightly
On the side of your delicate china plate
And as you draw in one swift breath
And anticipation swells in my stomach,
A screech
A crack
A rusty screw
Our food thrown to the floor
Making room for the tiny shards of hand painted stained glass
And tiny pieces of fiberglass bulb
That once gave me hope
For that tiny flicker in your eyes

Instinct.
I throw my chair backwards and jump up
To avoid being sliced
By razor sharp pieces

But you remain seated
With a grin
Arms covered in little slices of
Blue. Purple. Red. Yellow.
But now mostly red…
And you breath deep
Rise slowly from your chair
And kiss me
And, looking back only once to admire the beauty of this disaster
You walk away.
